Bedford College Accountancy Level 3 Apprenticeship

This Advanced apprenticeship will continue to enhance your accounting skills and knowledge. You will learn the accounting principles, experience accounting software and gain an insight into accounting business environments. Accounting technicians are skilled staff employed in jobs ranging from clerks to accounts department managers. They are increasingly required in industry and commerce, so if you have AAT qualifications at any level your prospects will be extremely good.

Entry requirements

Grade requirements: You will need a minimum of four GCSEs at grades A*-C including English and maths plus a Level 2 AAT qualification.

Other requirements: You will need a good knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping

Course content

During this apprenticeship you will study a range of topics, including:

  • Accounts preparation
  • Ethics
  • Costs and revenues
  • Indirect tax
  • Spreadsheets

Assessment methods

You will be assessed by computer-based exams and assignments throughout the year. The professional examinations require a high standard of preparation and commitment.

You will gain the following qualifications:

Accounting AAT Level 3 Diploma

  • Employment Rights and Responsibilities
  • Personal, Learning and Thinking Skills
  • Functional Skills in English and maths

Further study and career options

Further study: On successful completion of this course you could also go on to study our Level 4 Diploma in Accounting.

Future careers: Alternatively you can move into a full-time role as an accounts administrator, accounts assistant, cashier or purchase ledger clerk.
