Management NVQ Level 5 Diploma

The aim of this qualification is to recognise the skills and competence of managers in the workplace. The qualification provides managers working across all industry sectors to demonstrate recognisable management and leadership skills such as managing business processes, developing and implementing operational plans, managing finance and planning and implementing organisational change.

Entry requirements

You must be working in a management role in any employment sector.

Course content

This is a work oriented qualification designed to benchmark the level and work standard of the candidate. The qualification is updated every three years ensuring that the standards meet current business needs.

The course gives:

  • Candidates increased confidence in their leadership skills
  • Opportunities to develop key managerial skills Improved staff performance and motivation
  • Opportunities to improve the quality of work output of a team.
  • A minimum of 38 credits are required overall for completion of this qualification, which must include a minimum of 21 credits at, or above, Level 5.

  • Mandatory units (credit value 23)

    • Develop and evaluate operational plans for own area of responsibility (6 credits)
    • Provide leadership and direction for own area of responsibility (5 credits)
    • Plan change in own area of responsibility (6 credits)
    • Work productively with Colleagues and stakeholders (6 credits)

    Optional units (credit value 15 –at least 6 credits at Level 5 and above)

    • Choose from a selection of units.

    Your NVQ Assessor will help you choose the units most appropriate to your job role.

    Further study and career options

    Successful candidates may progress on to the Level 7 NVQ Diploma in Management (QCF).

    Additional information

    Candidates should complete within 8 to 10 months.
