Community Volunteering ASDAN Level 3 Award

This qualification is ideal if you are considering working as a volunteer in any sector and wish to achieve a formal qualification, or if you are already volunteering and wish to further develop your existing skills and experience. This Level 3 qualification will enhance your CV if you are looking to change job roles or seeking employment , and carries 30 UCAS points if you are considering applying to university. Compared to the NCFE Level 2 course, this qualification is suitable for those who wish to gain a wider understanding of the nature of volunteering. This course has a flexible learning approach, allowing you to work at your own pace, with a tutor on hand for support when needed.

Entry requirements

To begin this course you will need to be a volunteer in any organisation.

Course content

You will study the types of organisations in which you can volunteer, as well as the rules and requirements for voluntary roles. You will explore the skills required, and learn how you can further improve the skills you already have.

During this course there are two mandatory units:

  • Understanding the Nature of Volunteering and Volunteer-Involving Organisations
  • Carrying Out Volunteering Roles.

You will also study one of seven optional units to compliment your own experience. If you are an external student you could also join some of the volunteering/fundraising projects that internal students are studying if you so wish.

Assessment methods

You will be assessed by completing a portfolio of work during the course.
