IT Application Specialist Apprenticeship Level 2

This apprenticeship will provide you with the competence, skills and knowledge required to work effectively and efficiently with IT systems, communications and productivity tools and applications in a range of job roles and industry sectors. This course will combine the practical hands-on experience of the workplace with the knowledge and understanding gained through a college course. You will decide, along with your employer, which units you choose to study, relevant to your job role such as IT security for users, using mobile IT devices and setting up an IT system.

Entry requirements

Grade requirements:

You will need a minimum of three GCSEs at grades A*-D or 9-4, including English and maths.

Course content

During this apprenticeship you will study a range of topics, including:
  • Improving productivity using IT 
  • Understanding the potential of IT
  • Developing personal and team effectiveness using IT

Assessment methods

You will be assessed through building a portfolio of evidence.

Qualifications

You will gain the following qualifications:
IT User Skills Level 2 Diploma
Plus…

  • Employment Rights and Responsibilities
  • Functional Skills in English and maths
Further study and career options

Further study: On successful completion of this course you could progress on to the IT Application Specialist Advanced Level apprenticeship.
Future careers: This qualification could help you secure a job in IT such as assistant application specialist, web development assistant and business administrator.

You will also have the opportunity to take additional professional certifications; these professional certifications will incur an extra cost.
