Heritage Skills CSkills Awards NVQ Level 3 Diploma
This Level 3 Construction course will enable you to convert your existing skills and experience into a recognised construction qualification through on-site assessment and training. The course takes into account the skills you already have, so you only need to train towards the things you dont know how to do. The whole qualification can be assessed on-site, so no work time is lost by attending College.
To take part in this course you must at least have an NVQ Level 2 in your main trade area. You must also be working in a suitable heritage construction role in order to gain enough performance evidence.
There are five specific construction trade routes currently on offer: carpentry, bench joinery, brickwork, painting and decorating, and plastering.
During the course you will complete the following mandatory units:
- Conforming to General Safety in the Workplace
- Confirming Work Activities and Resources for Occupational Work Areas
- Developing and Maintaining Good Occupational Working Relationships
- Confirming the Occupational Method of Work
- Working on Conservation and Restoration Projects.
You will then pursue one of the following specific heritage routes: brickwork, bench joinery, carpentry, painting and decorating, plastering (solid & fibrous).
You will be assessed on-site, and through providing a portfolio of evidence.
