Practical Garden Design (Course full)

This course is aimed at people who are interested in design using traditional drawing techniques. You will be asked to draw an area of garden to scale after learning the necessary skills. You will learn the techniques required to redesign the area looking at design principles such as colour theory, planting and building materials. The final session will be to redraw the area using your newly learnt skills.

Entry requirements

No specific entry requirements. Learners should have a good knowledge of English and must contact the College prior to enrolling if they have any support needs.

Course content

The course will cover:

  • Drawing techniques
  • Design principles
  • Colour theory
  • Plant and hard landscaping choice

Assessment methods

You will be continually assessed throughout the course.

Further study and career options

You can progress onto one of our RHS accredited qualifications.
