Gas Flue Analysis (CPA1) BPEC Certificate

CPA 1 is the latest assessment to complement the ACS gas qualification and covers the safe and efficient analysis of flue gases.

Entry requirements

This course is suitable for you if you are a gas fitting operative and wish to use the gas analyser as an aid when commissioning and servicing gas appliances. It is suitable for Gas Safe registered operatives or gas engineers taking ACS for the first time. You will also need to have CCN1 and CEN1 competency or be taking them together with CPA1.

Course content

You will study the function and use of a flue gas analyser. This course will teach you how to promote the use of gas analysers to investigate the presence of carbon monoxide as well as how to improve the efficient use of a gas analyser to assist in the commissioning and servicing of gas appliances.

Assessment methods

This is a one day course that involves half a day's practical and theoretical training and half a day's assessment.

Further study and career options

On successful completion of the assessment, you will gain ACS accreditation for CPA1.
