Chartered Management Institute (CMI) Coaching & Mentoring in Education Level 3 Certificate (Cancelled)

This course is intended to be an introduction for supervisors and managers to coaching and mentoring.  Learn the principles and skills to transform your team or your own performance. Coaching is a powerful tool for improving performance at all levels of an organization.  This introductory course will be over a period of 20 weeks and will take you through the major models and theories and enable you to practice and apply these to your workplace.

Entry requirements

You will need to be a:

  • Supervisor, or
  • First-line manager
  • With a Level 2 English qualification.

(If you do not meet all the above criteria a telephone interview may be necessary.)

Course content

This course covers:

  • Coaching and mentoring processes
  • Completing the coaching and mentoring process
  • Coaching and mentoring process evaluation

Assessment methods

This is a 20-week course with some taught sessions on a Monday from 9.30am-11.30am. There are two hours of tutorial support allocated to you and the remainder of the course is delivered online. Aside from the taught sessions, the rest of the course is supported with tutorials and online learning. Assessment will be through presentations, logs and written reflection on coaching/mentoring practice.

Further study and career options

Progression could be made to:

  • Level 5 Mentoring Diploma (University of Bedfordshire certificate)
  • CMI Management Diploma

The course is validated by The Chartered Management Institute – the only chartered professional body dedicated to management and leadership. Certification from this awarding body ensures the highest value and currency for your qualification.
