Introduction to Cabin Crew NCFE Level 2 Certificate

This course is designed to give you the knowledge and ability to become cabin crew. The course mirrors some of the training available within the industry with practical experiences and employment prospects. The course is backed by Monarch, Thomas Cook and BMI which guarantees interviews upon successful completion of the course.

Entry requirements

No formal qualifications are necessary to complete the certificate, only a good level of written and spoken English. The course is aimed at those with a genuine interest in the travel industry and who would like to become air cabin crew.

Course content

You will look at different aspects of cabin crew training including customer care, food and drink service, first aid and emergency procedures. Of course, it would not be complete without using the life jackets and pointing out the exits!

Units include:

  • The airline industry and the role of airline cabin crew
  • Promoting effective customer care
  • Maintaining effective team working and communications
  • Contributing to the health and safety of passengers
  • Contributing to aviation security
  • Demonstrating an understanding of the arrival process

Assessment methods

You will be continuously assessed as you progress through the course. You will also take a multiple choice test.

Further study and career options

Last year we visited the Monarch training facility at Luton Airport where students took part in arming and disarming doors, emergency procedures, evacuating a smoke filled cabin - and of course going down the emergency slide. As the qualifications are backed by Monarch, Thomas Cook and BMI, students can apply for interview with these or other airlines. Some students may also want to study travel and tourism further and take up a full time qualification.
